Specialized lane · Consultation required
VPN and proxy server recommendations
VPN and proxy products succeed on network quality, multi-location strategy, and provider Acceptable Use Policy — not on buying the first Instant dedicated server you see. This lane starts with a consultation so the shortlist matches a lawful product or internal access need.
What this page is for
Founders building a privacy VPN, teams needing corporate remote-access nodes, or products that require controlled proxy egress often need dedicated servers in specific countries with strong networking. Many mainstream Instant catalogs are a poor first click because AUP, abuse process, and fair-use bandwidth terms differ widely.
Why consultation is required
On consultation I map concurrent users, target countries, protocols (for example WireGuard or OpenVPN), bandwidth assumptions, budget, and whether this is a public product or internal tooling. Then I shortlist providers and starting PoPs that are realistic to approve and operate.
Practical build order
- Define the lawful use case — privacy product, remote workforce access, or controlled egress.
- Estimate concurrent sessions and GB/user — this drives port speed and transfer terms.
- Pick 1–2 launch regions — expand PoPs after demand exists.
- Confirm provider AUP and abuse process — before paying for a year of capacity.
- Size CPU/RAM for crypto + concurrency — modern VPN stacks are often network-bound first.
- Plan monitoring and abuse response — logging policy, ticket handling, and null-route readiness.
What I will not help with
Fraud rings, credential stuffing, DDoS-for-hire, malware command-and-control, or bypassing systems you are not authorized to access. Lawful privacy and access infrastructure only.
Related lanes
Traffic-heavy designs should also read unmetered bandwidth servers. Content-heavy lawful hosting questions may belong on DMCA-aware servers.
